QuietOK1. Plain-language summary
QuietOK reads step activity only after you grant HealthKit permission. It does not request heart-rate or location data.
Raw HealthKit samples and raw step counts stay on your device. QuietOK may send the time of the latest confirmed activity/check-in to its server so the server can maintain your current check-in schedule if the app is suspended or closed.
QuietOK does not sell personal data or HealthKit data and does not use HealthKit data for advertising.
You can delete your QuietOK server data from inside the app.
2. HealthKit and step activity
With your permission, QuietOK reads recent step count activity from Apple HealthKit. This may include step activity recorded by your iPhone and, when available, Apple Watch. Apple Watch is not required.
QuietOK uses recent step activity to determine whether normal movement has occurred during your chosen Active Hours. A qualifying movement can confirm a check-in and reset the app’s no-activity timer.
QuietOK does not request access to heart rate, location, contacts, medical records, or other HealthKit data types for the current version of the service. QuietOK does not write data to HealthKit.
Raw HealthKit samples and raw step counts are not uploaded to QuietOK’s server. QuietOK may synchronize a derived latest-confirmed-activity timestamp and the resulting check-in schedule to its server so the server can perform unattended check-in backup.
QuietOK does not use HealthKit information for advertising, marketing profiles, or data brokerage.

Information kept on your device
The app stores local settings and recent app status/history needed for the QuietOK experience. The per-installation server credential is stored in the iOS Keychain. HealthKit itself remains controlled by iOS and Apple Health permissions.
4. How we use information
QuietOK uses the information described above only to:
- provide passive activity-based check-ins;
- calculate and maintain your current check-in schedule;
- ask you to respond before notifying Trusted People;
- send test, missed check-in, and all-clear emails;
- show message-delivery status;
- secure the service, authenticate installations, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot reliability;
- comply with legal obligations when applicable.
QuietOK does not use personal information or HealthKit information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.
6. Retention and deletion
QuietOK keeps active installation, Trusted Person, check-in schedule, and related delivery records for as long as they are needed to provide the service to that installation. Technical anti-abuse records may be retained as reasonably necessary to protect the service.
You can permanently delete the QuietOK server records associated with your installation from Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete QuietOK Data. The app first requests deletion from the server and, after confirmation, removes the local QuietOK profile and installation credential and returns to onboarding.
Deleting QuietOK data removes the installation’s server-side Trusted People, current check-in state, related dispatch records, QuietOK email records, installation credential record, and App Attest registration data from QuietOK’s database.
Messages already delivered to a Trusted Person’s email account cannot be recalled. Infrastructure and email providers may retain limited records under their own security, legal, and operational retention requirements.
Deleting the app from your iPhone is not the same as using the in-app Delete QuietOK Data control. If possible, use the in-app control before uninstalling when you want to remove server records.
7. Your privacy choices
- HealthKit: You can change QuietOK’s Health permissions using Apple Health/iOS privacy controls.
- Notifications: You can change notification permissions in iOS Settings.
- Trusted People: You can add, edit, or remove Trusted People in the app.
- Delete QuietOK data: Use Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete QuietOK Data.

8. Security
QuietOK uses HTTPS for network communications, a unique revocable installation credential stored in iOS Keychain, and Apple App Attest on supported physical devices to help verify legitimate app installations. Server credentials such as Cloudflare or email-provider API keys are not embedded in the iPhone app.
No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We design QuietOK to minimize the amount of information it needs and to reduce the consequences of unauthorized access.
9. Children
QuietOK is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to QuietOK, contact us so we can review and remove it as appropriate.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as QuietOK changes. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page and, when appropriate, provide additional notice in the app or through the App Store.
