QuietOK Support

How can we help?

Answers for setup, step activity, server-backed check-ins, notifications, Trusted People, check-in emails, and deleting your QuietOK data.

Quick checks

If QuietOK does not seem to be confirming activity, start here:

  1. Check Settings → Subscription for active access. Monitoring and new check-in emails require an active trial or subscription.
  2. Confirm QuietOK has permission to read Steps in Apple Health/iOS Health privacy controls.
  3. Notifications are optional. If you want the background “Everything OK?” prompt, confirm Notifications are allowed for QuietOK in iOS Settings. QuietOK remains usable when Notifications are off.
  4. Open QuietOK and check the Home or Activity screen for the latest confirmed movement.
  5. If you use Apple Watch, remember it is optional — QuietOK can also use qualifying iPhone step activity.

Trial and annual subscription

QuietOK is free to download. Eligible new subscribers receive 7 days free, then $14.99/year in the U.S. Prices vary by region. There is no monthly plan. Apple manages payment and automatic renewal.

Use Settings → Restore Purchases if an existing purchase is not showing. Use Manage or Cancel Subscription to manage it through Apple. Cancel at least 24 hours before the trial or current period ends to avoid renewal.

Access remains available until its applicable expiration. When access expires, monitoring and new check-in emails pause. Settings and data deletion remain available. Deleting QuietOK or its data does not cancel an Apple subscription.

Optional permissions and manual check-ins

Health Steps and Notifications permissions are optional. Without step access, walking will not reset the timer; open QuietOK and tap “I’M OK” manually. Without Notifications, background reminders will not appear. The server timer and Trusted Person emails still operate while access is active, so open the app to check and respond.

Apple Health and iOS control background step delivery; it is not a fixed 30-minute refresh. Opening QuietOK refreshes available activity. Avoid swiping the app away when testing background delivery.

Movement after a check-in starts does not clear it, though activity during grace may suppress email escalation. Tap “I’M OK” to clear it. Late-delivered activity from before the inactivity deadline can cancel an unnecessary check-in.

Trusted People & email

How do I know a Trusted Person can receive QuietOK email?

Use QuietOK’s test-email feature after adding a Trusted Person. Ask them to check Spam or Junk if the test does not appear. A “Server accepted” status means the destination mail server accepted the message; it does not guarantee inbox placement or that the recipient read it.

When are Trusted People contacted?

QuietOK first waits for the no-activity interval during Active Hours. If the interval is reached, QuietOK asks you “Everything OK?” While subscription access is active, QuietOK’s server can send the missed check-in email if you do not respond during grace and escalation has not been suppressed.

Does QuietOK have to stay open for the email to be sent?

No. Once your current check-in schedule has synced, QuietOK’s server keeps track of the deadline and can send the Trusted Person email even if the app is not open when the response period expires. Your iPhone is still responsible for detecting and reporting newer activity, so connectivity and iOS background behavior can affect how quickly new activity reaches the server.

What happens if I respond after an email was already sent?

Tapping “I’M OK” resolves the QuietOK check-in. QuietOK can send an all-clear email to the Trusted People who received that check-in alert, then monitoring resumes.

Active Hours and Quiet Hours

QuietOK monitors expected movement only during your Active Hours. Quiet Hours never accumulate inactivity. When the next Active Hours period begins, the inactivity timer starts fresh rather than carrying inactivity over from the night before.

Delete your QuietOK data

In the app, go to Settings → Privacy & Data → Delete QuietOK Data. After QuietOK confirms deletion with its server, the app removes the local QuietOK profile and returns to onboarding.

This removes the installation’s server-side Trusted People, current check-in state, related dispatch and email records, installation credential record, and App Attest registration data. Emails already delivered to another person’s mailbox cannot be recalled.

Deleting data does not cancel your Apple subscription. Verified subscription transaction records may remain for purchase restoration and refund/replay protection; the installation’s subscription association is removed.

Important limitations

QuietOK is a reassurance and check-in tool, not an emergency response service, medical device, fall detector, or substitute for emergency services. Email and notification delivery can be affected by device settings, connectivity, mail filtering, service outages, and other factors outside QuietOK’s control.
